Job Description

Position Summary:

A Legal Assistant provides administrative, legal research, and document-support services to lawyers and the legal team. The role involves preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, organizing case files, communicating with clients and authorities, and supporting lawyers in day-to-day legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers with preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, cases, and legal issues.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, contracts, agreements, letters, and reports.
  • Maintain and organize client files, case records, and confidential documents.
  • Assist with case preparation, including collecting and organizing evidence and supporting documents.
  • Monitor court dates, meetings, deadlines, and other important legal schedules.
  • Communicate with clients, government authorities, courts, and other relevant parties when authorized.
  • Assist lawyers in preparing for meetings, negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft basic legal documents and correspondence under the supervision of a lawyer.
  • Enter and maintain case information in legal case management systems.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, document management, and billing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately.
  • Perform other legal and administrative duties assigned by supervising lawyers.
